Robert Robert is from Montreal and makes songs on his computer. BOOST, the artist’s new hopecore and kinetic album, highlights human connections as the answer to mental paralysis. Robert Robert invokes what binds us together, what drives us away and the energy hidden in those spaces, just like static electricity moving through two hands.

Arthur Gaumont-Marchand’s musical journey starts in his teenage years, at the peak of the dubstep era. He finds refuge behind the turntables of his native Montreal’s raves and integrates the alternative communities of the electronic music scene. Robert Robert’s career took an important turn in 2021 with the release of Silicone Villeray, a first album as a singer-songwriter under the Chivi Chivi imprint.

BOOST emerges in 2025 after a period of reconnection between Robert Robert and his brother, which causes a certain return to childhood for the artist. He starts the creative process alone with his computer as he is going through the whirlwind that is the late twenties. He lets out his mental overflow without suggesting any solution other than acceptance, gratitude and honesty. The album is essentially recorded at the Treatment Room, a hidden treasure in the Mile-End nestled between a railroad and a lumber yard. Going back to a more spontaneous creative method, his music calls upon pop, techno, electronic and dance influences, highlighting sampling and employing both virtual and acoustic instruments. Robert Robert records, composes, writes and produces this album alongside his co-pilot Benoît Parent before leaving the mix in the good hands of his friend Valentin Ignat.

Known for his magnetic and unwearying scenic formula, Robert Robert will tread the boards of the mythic Club Soda for the very first time in February 2026 as he celebrates BOOST’s release. When our points of reference will falter, we will always be able to find refuge in his music and his words, knowing that there is no safer place than the eye of the storm.
