Xela Edna is a multidisciplinary artist: singer, songwriter, composer, performer, producer, arranger, dancer, actress, artistic director, and stylist, born in Montreal (Tiohtiá:ke) in 2000. Always intrigued by the performing arts and the entertainment industry, she began playing piano at the age of 10 and composing songs at the age of 14.

Starting her musical career as Xela Edna in 2018, Edna has been creating an extraordinary artistic universe for over seven years. In close collaboration with Dominic Walther Battista, blending electronic pop and experimental industrial punk, their artistic approach is characterized by a bold sonic exploration: textures, conceptualization, sound design, maximalism, and emotional exhibitionism.

Defined by synthesizers, modular synthesis, complex vocal processing, and raw, uninhibited bilingual songwriting, their work unites lightness and depth, as well as reflection and dance floor culture, to offer a hybrid sensory experience. Their world is intriguing, somber, and unsettling, reflecting both their state of mind and their view on contemporary society.

On stage, Edna embodies a powerful, liberating, and unrestrained presence, a psychological and physical experience that draws us into their distinct multidisciplinary universe, incorporating music, poetry, dance, visual art, and theater.

Inspired by artists who prioritize their artistic vision and possess a unique sound, such as FKA Twigs, Oklou, Rosalìa, Cecile Believe, Saya Gray, and Marie Davidson, Edna actively pursues this vision from her own perspective.

After releasing three EPs between 2019 and 2021 and a multitude of singles and collaborations with artists from the Montreal scene between 2021 and 2025, Xela Edna is preparing the highly anticipated release of her very first album, due in Spring 2026.
