APACALDA is the Montreal-based project of singer, songwriter, and producer Cassandra Angheluta, whose emotionally immersive music blends goth-tinged indie pop, dark psychedelia, and electronic textures into a distinctive alternative sound.

Her debut self-titled EP (2022) introduced a cinematic aesthetic marked by orchestral elements and raw visual storytelling, later earning recognition from film festivals like 1.4 Brilliant Filmmaking Awards (US), Seeyousound Film Festival (Italy), and the Berlin Music Video Awards for her music videos.

Her first full-length album, There’s a Shadow in My Room and It Isn’t Mine, was released on June 13, 2025, independently via behave. Produced in collaboration with Mishka Stein (Patrick Watson) and mixed by Juno Award–winning engineer Samuel Woywitka (Half Moon Run), the record also features contributions from Christophe Lamarche (Charlotte Cardin) and Dayhills (Skiifall). The album received widespread critical praise from outlets including Billboard Canada, Le Devoir, The Line of Best Fit, Pan M 360, Le Canal Auditif, RANGE Magazine, Cult MTL, Reverie, Tinnitist, Analogue Trash, Turn and Work, and more. It reached the Top 25 on Earshot’s Top 50 and climbed to #7 on the Electronic Chart, with strong online engagement and support from Spotify editorial playlists including Fresh Finds and New Music Friday Canada.

APACALDA writes, arranges, and produces much of her own work. This new album sees her stepping further into production and expanding her sonic palette—crafting a daring, genre-fluid sound that sits at the intersection of alternative and pop without sacrificing emotional depth. On stage, she embodies this same fluidity with her band—her soft voice can suspend time, and in the next moment, she can unleash unbridled power that leaves audiences spellbound.
